Vocational Training Center (VTC) Strategy

The Society for Basic Needs has established a Vocational Training Center (VTC) at Jammulapalem village in order to enhance the livelihood opportunities for the surrounding rural-educated women and youth. The vocational training programs cover a broad range of subjects, from Computer training to Spoken English. During their course, the trainees are awarded a sum of Rs. 1,500 to 2,000 as stipend based on their performance.

After the successful completion of their training, the candidates are also assisted in getting their placements. The response to this initiative has been overwhelming and the Society is now moving towards more of such initiatives. Besides the enthusiasm shown by the participants, the response from the market indicates that this is a sustainable initiative.
