College Students Encouraged to Improve Their Skills
Kondapi MLA Sri Potula Rama Rao says a Government College student has to improve their skills equally competing with the corporate colleges. NRI Bezawada Srinivasa Rao and ZPTC Member Ravuri Ayyavaraiah has given the awards of encouragement to the Merit students of Potula Chenchaiah Memorial Junior College at Tangutur. College Principal B.V. Ramanaiah precided the programme.
In this regard Rama Rao said that the development of schools and hostels in all sectors and implementation of midday meals shows the special interest of Government in developing the Educational Department. He also remembered the introduction of Computer Courses at High School level and implementation of English Medium from VI class in Government Sectors.
He told the students to develop competitive spirit. NRI Bezawada Srinivasa Rao told the students not to get disappointed for not gaining a seat in Engineering or Medicine instead they have vast opportunities in all the streams if one can prove themselves.
He also encouraged the students with cash prizes and promised to continue that. The toppers of March, 2008 Kum K. Venkata Sudha of Sciences with 905 marks and Mr. Anil Reddy from Arts with 841 marks were given Rs.10,000/- of cash prize each. Y. Swathi (896) and K. Ramya (807) the next best were given Rs.3.000/- by ZPTC Ayyavaraiah. NRI Bezawada Srinivasa Rao, his wife Smt. Koteswaramma, Chairman of Rotary Club, Ram Nagar Sri Paidi Veera Raghava Rao, Ravi Kumar, and Srinivas participated in the programme.
